Hyundai’s 3 BIG car & SUV launches for 2018

Hyundai has lined up three new, mass market cars for the Indian market in 2018. The launch blitz is expected to begin at the upcoming Auto Expo. Here’s a quick walkthrough of what Hyundai’s bringing in.

All-new Santro

The Santro badge is expected to make a grand comeback early next year, at the 2018 Auto Expo, in a fresh, new tall-boy hatchback.  It’ll sit in between the Eon and Grand i10 in terms of price and positioning, replacing the older i10 that’s no longer sold here. A 3 cylinder petrol engine is expected to be standard, with manual and AMT options. The car’s final look has been under wraps, heightening anticipation. The Hyundai factory has already begun rolling out engines for the new car, indicating an early 2018 launch.

i20 Elite Facelift

Over the past few months, Hyundai has been extensively testing the facelifted version of the i20 Elite. The premium hatchback – a Baleno rival – is likely to make it to showrooms early next year. It’ll be shown at the Auto Expo, and will feature stylistic changes on the front and the rear. The interiors of the car will also get a refresh, and a prominent change will be the addition of a touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The engines aren’t likely to be updated though, with the 1.2 liter and 1.4 liter petrols, and the 1.4 liter turbo diesel motors expected to carry on.

Creta Facelift

The facelifted Creta has already made its debut in Latin America, and the same SUV is said to be India-bound. The facelifted model gets a refreshed front end, which makes it look far more aggressive than before. The automaker has already begun testing the facelifted car on Indian roads. The facelifted version is expected to arrive by the end of 2018, sometime during the festive season.The engines and gearboxes are expected to be retained as is. In the cabin, Hyundai could add a few new features with the overall look and feel remaining similar to the current version.
