India bound 2015 Hyundai iX25 Compact SUV – New Details and Spyshots

Hyundai India will launch the iX25 compact SUV here in the first half of 2015. The SUV will be launched in China much earlier, in October this year. The compact SUV that will be sold in China will be offered with two petrol engine option, both four cylinder units displacing 1.6 liters and 2 liters.

The 1.6 liter petrol engine of the iX25 will be borrowed from the Hyundai Verna/Accent/Solaris. The same petrol engine is expected to be be offered on the India-spec iX25 SUV as well. The India-spec compact SUV will also get a turbo diesel engine, likely to be a 1.6 liter CRDI turbo diesel unit borrowed from the Verna.

The Hyundai iX25 compact SUV will be offered with manual and automatic transmission options. Both front wheel drive and all wheel drive versions of the iX25 compact SUV will be sold in China and the all wheel drive option will be offered on the 2 liter petrol engined, automatic gearbox equipped version of the SUV, in other words, on the top-of-the-line model.

For the Indian car market, the iX25 compact SUV will be be manufactured at Hyundai India’s Sriperumbudur factory, off Chennai. In India, the Hyundai iX25 compact SUV, which measures over 4 meters in length, will take on the likes of the Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano in terms of price and positioning.

New spyshots depicting the interiors of the 2015 Hyundai iX25 compact SUV have surfaced online. From the spyshots, it is evident that the SUV will feature a high quality interiors with a host of features and creature comforts. The dashboard design of the iX25 seems similar to that of the new Santa Fe, with more edges than curves.

Features such as the automatic climate control module, the steering mounted controls and the automatic gearbox have been revealed through the latest set of spyshots. From the looks of it, the iX25 compact SUV from Hyundai seems all set to continue the high quality interiors theme that the South Korean car maker has come to be known for.
