Kia Motors will soon set-up base in the Indian market. The Korean brand has officially revealed the sketches of upcoming compact SUV, Kia Stonic that will be launched in India when the Kia enters India. The Stonic is a rebadged version of the Hyundai Kona that was revealed recently through spy pictures.
The Kia Stonic will be a compact SUV which will be offered with highly customisable options. For the Indian market, Kia is expected to bring in the vehicle in under 4 metres length to get tax benefits. The vehicle will be pitted against the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, upcoming Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport in the market. Stonic will be available in the global market by the end of 2017 and will be offered in the Indian market by 2018 end or early 2019.
The Kia Stonic sports a very aggressive overall design and gets sharp and sporty grille of Kia family. There will be a lip spoiler that will be in contrast to the body colour of the vehicle. The vehicle gets pronounced wheel arches with plastic cladding.
The Stonic features a sloping roofline with raked boot lid, making it look unique. It will get slim LED tail lamps with big skid plate on the rear bumper.
On the inside, the vehicle gets simple, finished in black interiors with grey dashboard. The interior gets orange accents on the central console. There is a large touch-sensitive screen that will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. There are not much revealed about the interior features and other equipment right now. More details are awaited as Kia will officially unveil the vehicle in July this year.
Kia is planning to make the Stonic highly customisable. It may follow the similar strategy that Maruti Vitara Brezza has followed. The car will come with optional alloy wheels, decal packs and interior themes to suit the need of the buyers.
