India bound Suzuki Jimny to be unveiled next month

Earlier this month, the Jimny was revealed through leaked pictures. The compact SUV is available in many international models but the all-new Jimny will come to the Indian market too. The Jimny will replace the aging Gypsy in the Indian market and will be made here in India too.

Jimny will enter its fourth generation with the 2018 model. The car has been spotted testing under heavy camouflage too. However, the pictures reveal how the car will look like exactly. The Jimy carries a very angular and straight design. The boxy design looks inspired by the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen. It gets two-doors and a hard top too. The vehicle gets round headlamps with a contemporary looking grille. The Jimny also gets a full-size tail door.

The Jimny will be based on an all-new platform. The Sports Utility Vehicle will have the same underpinnings that also forms the base of the Baleno and the DZire. The vehicle also gets cladding all around the body and flared wheel arches to give it a more rugged look. Also, there will be a 4X4 system and a low ratio transfer case to help the vehicle to get out from any difficult situation.

The new Jimny will get many modern and updated features. The dashboard looks quite rugged and there will be a touch-sensitive infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The AC vents are similar to the Ignis. The Jimny may share other interior parts with the hatchback too.

Jimny will be produced in India and will be exported to the Indian market too. The car will be powered by 1.0-litre Boosterjet that also powers the Baleno RS. The Jimny may get a re-tuned version of the same. We expect to see the car in 2018 Auto Expo in India.
