Indian actor Karan Kundrra has bought a new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The Rubicon variant is the top-of-the-line variant and is priced at Rs. 60.35 lakhs ex-showroom. It is finished in Sarge Green colour.
There is also another variant which Jeep offers the Wrangler, it is called Unlimited and is priced at Rs. 56.35 lakhs ex-showroom. Both the variants come with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that is capable of producing 268 hp of max power and a peak torque output of 400 Nm. It comes mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission that transfers the power to all four wheels.
The Rubicon variant is a more hardcore version of the Wrangler. It gets Jeep’s Rock-Trac full-time 4WD with locking front and rear differentials. There are also electronic sway bars that can disconnect while off-roading. It gets Heavy-duty performance suspension with gas shock absorbers. Moreover, the alloy wheels are down-sized from 18-inches to 17-inches in favour of thicker side walls. The tyres measure 255/75 R17. The Rubicon gets higher ground clearance, and a better approach angle, ramp break-over angle and departure angles.

It still comes with full-frame doors that are removable. There is a huge Rubicon decal on the hood and the interior is washable. The dashboard gets a red anodized insert and seats get red stitching.
Karan’s Wrangler Rubicon’s number plate spells “K KUNDRRA”. This must have been done only for the video. We can also see that the actor is very happy and he is also driving the new SUV. He says that the glass area is smaller when compared to his Land Rover Range Rover. Karan says that you can feel that the Wrangler has a huge road presence. Also, he is seated very high off the ground.
The Wrangler comes with a split tailgate just like we have seen on the Thar. So, the lower half of the tailgate opens first to the side and then the glass opens upwards. He also takes the SUV to a fuel pump to refill the fuel tank and the Wrangler Rubicon takes in 70 litres of petrol worth Rs. 7,846.
Some other vehicles that Karan Kundrra owns are Land Rover Range Rover, an older generation of Ford Endeavour. He also used to own a Mini Cooper that he sold off now.
In India, we only get the 5-door version of the Wrangler. There are all-LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running strips, LED foglamps and tail lamps, 7-inch coloured multi-information display. There is also UConnect touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, push-button to start/stop the engine, keyless entry, leather upholstery and much more.
