One of the fast bowlers of the Indian cricket team – Mohammed Shami – has just added a Jaguar F-Type sportscar to his collection. The two seater coupe that Mohammed Shami has brought home is finished in a striking colour called the Caldera Red. Priced at Rs. 98.13 lakh, ex-showroom, the two seater F-Type R-Dynamic 2.0 is the most affordable variant in Jaguar’s sportscar line-up.
The car’s imported into India as a completely built unit (CBU) from England, where it’s built at Jaguar-Land Rover’s manufacturing facility. The 2 liter-4 cylinder supercharged petrol engine makes 295 Bhp of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque. An 8 speed ZF torque converter automatic gearbox transmits torque to the rear wheels of the car. The F-Type 2.0 can hit a top speed of 250 Kph and do the 0-100 Kph sprint in just 5.7 seconds.
There are more even more powerful and quicker variants of the F-Type sold in India. For another 40 lakh rupees extra, you can buy the V8 engined version of the F-Type coupe. This version uses a 5,000cc, V8 supercharged petrol engine that pushes out 444 Bhp of peak power and 580 Nm of peak torque. It’s rear wheel driven and can hit 100 Kph from standstill in 4.6 seconds while top speed is 285 Kph. This engine also uses an 8 speed ZF sourced torque converter automatic gearbox. The F-Type is also available in convertible trim, but is priced Rs. 10 lakh higher.

The top-of-the-line F-Type coupe and convertible sportscars feature the same 5 liter, V8 supercharged petrol engine but get an all wheel drive layout as a key performance-enhancing feature. The all wheel drive coupe and convertible trims of the F-Type are priced at Rs. 2.45 crore and 2.61 crore respectively. Both cars can accelerate to 100 Kph from standstill in a blinding 3.7 seconds while top speeds are 300 Kmph. Now, that’s right in supercar territory, making the F-Type one of the fastest Jaguars ever produced. Competition for the Jaguar F-Type comes from the likes of the Porsche 718 and 911 models.
Coming back to Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami, the speedster recently acquired a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. The GT 650 is a cafe-racer styled motorcycle that’s built to be usable everyday. It’s the flagship motorcycle in the Royal Enfield range, and is priced at Rs. 3.32 lakh for the Mister Chrome version that Shami bought. The motorcycle is powered by a 647cc, parallel twin air cooled engine that produces 47 Bhp-52 Nm. A 6 speed manual gearbox with slipper clutch comes standard with this engine. The Continental GT 650 has a roadster sibling called the Interceptor, which is priced slightly lower.
