It’s not uncommon to see PM Narendra Modi using the heavily armoured Land Rover Range Rover and BMW 7-Series Security in India. But our Prime Minister was seen using an equally special car during his recent visit to Germany. Seen below is a video that shows our PM getting out of the latest-gen Mercedes Maybach that was used to ferry him around in Germany.
The Mercedes-Maybach S600 is basically a really luxurious version of the already luxurious S-Class sedan. The latest Maybach model fills the void left behind by the now defunct standalone Maybach brand. Based on the latest generation S-Class, this Maybach gets many unique features that enhance the status of this sedan. The wheelbase has been stretched by more than over eight inches, which gives much more legroom to the important personalities that ride in the back. Even the roof of the S-Class has been suitably modified to free up 0.5-inches of additional headroom for the rear passengers.
Exterior modifications include a new radiator grille, an updated lower bumper, some chrome trim around the windows, new exhaust-cutters, and new design 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels. Also, the car gets the Maybach emblem on the C-pillar. On the inside, the car gets hand-stitched Nappa leather upholstery and plenty of real wood trim. You also get some chrome accents and an analogue clock with an IWC design on the dashboard. The rear passengers get power-adjustable “executive” seats that offer a hot-stone massage function. The front passenger’s seat can be moved all the way forward. The headrests of the rear seats get extra cushioning. The rear occupants also get their own dual-zone automatic aircon.
Powering the Mercedes Maybach S600 is a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that outputs 523 bhp from 4,900 to 5,300 rpm and a peak torque of 830 Nm between 1,900 and 4,000 rpm. The motor comes mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The Mercedes Maybach can sprint from zero to 96 kmph in just five seconds. The top speed has been limited to 250 kmph. A powerful car to move the most powerful man of our country – we approve!
