India’s 10 cheapest cars that offer dual airbags & ABS: Maruti Ignis to Tata Nexon

Safety features are not mandatory in cars sold in India. However, there are manufacturers who offer basic safety features like dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) as standard in the budget segment vehicles. We bring you the ten cheapest vehicles that offer all these features.

Maruti Ignis

Price: Rs. 4.59 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi

Maruti launched the all-new hatchback, the Ignis last year. It is the cheapest vehicle in the market to offer ABS, EBD and dual front airbags in the market. Also, the Ignis offers all these features as standard across all the variants. The Ignis is the cheapest car sold through the Nexa premium network of the company and packs a lot of features. The Ignis is offered with petrol and diesel engines and both the engine options are available with optional AMT.

Mahindra KUV 100

Price: Rs. 4.82 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi

Mahindra launched the facelift of the KUV 100 last year and the vehicle is now known as KUV 100 NXT. Mahindra now offers 6 seat version of the car as standard while customers can get the 5-seat variant on order. The KUV 100 NXT is the cheapest vehicle in the Mahindra portfolio with ABS + EBD and Dual airbags and EBD. All the “plus” variants of the KUV get dual airbags while all the other variants are equipped with ABS and EBD.

Tata Tiago

Tata Tiago is the best selling vehicle from Tata. The top variant of the Tiago is equipped with ABS, EBD and dual airbags. The other variants of the Tiago offer dual front airbags on all the variants except the base variant.

Ford Figo

Price: Rs. 5.24 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi

Even though the Maruti Swift is cheaper offering and offers all three safety features, the Figo is on the list because Maruti has stopped the production of the Swift and the all-new Swift is due. And of course, we do not have the prices of the upcoming Swift. The Figo is the rare vehicles in the segment to offer as many as six airbags.
