CNG is undoubtedly a more affordable as well as environment-friendly alternative to conventional petrol and diesel fuels. Although the prices of CNG have been soaring through the roof in recent times, however, it is still marginally cheaper and the CNG-powered vehicles return a better fuel economy. In terms of pricing, CNG vehicles are slightly more expensive than their normal petrol counterparts, all thanks to the added cost of alternations to the engine, fuel lines, CNG tank and more. The most evident advantage of a CNG vehicle is the low overall running cost as compared to regular petrol options. In recent times, car manufacturers have been offering factory-fitted CNG kits in their vehicles. Maruti Suzuki holds the baton in the CNG department, followed by Hyundai and Tata Motors is the latest entrant in the CNG space. Apart from this, there are several after-market options available to get a CNG kit installed in your petrol car, however, the performance and longevity of such kits is still somewhat questionable and a lot depends on the expertise of the mechanic. So today we bring you the top 5 most affordable CNG-powered cars in India.
