Skoda’s Kushaq has been doing well since its launch in the Indian market. People in India like to customize their vehicles according to their preference. Many new owners have already started to customize their Kushaq. Here, is a Kushaq that has been modified by its owner.
The customizations were done by Retro Cars and the pictures were shared on their Instagram. The Kushaq in the pictures look butch and has more road presence than the standard Kushaq because of the customizations. Overall, the mid-size compact SUV looks very good and attractive.
This Skoda Kushaq is finished in red. The customization shop has painted the black plastic cladding in red, then they painted the front butterfly grille and outside rearview mirror mounts and alloy wheels to gloss black. The Kushaq has also gone through chrome delete, so the window belts and Skoda’s badging has been de-chromed. Also, the roof rails are now finished in gloss black.

The Skoda Kushaq is offered with two engine options. There is a 1.0-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI. Both the engines run on petrol and there is no diesel engine on offer. The 1.0 TSI produces 115 PS of max power and 178 Nm of peak torque. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5 TSI puts out 150 PS of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Pricing and variants
The prices of the Skoda Kushaq start at Rs. 10.49 lakhs ex-showroom and go upto Rs. 17.59 lakhs ex-showroom. Kushaq is offered in three variants only. There is Active, Ambition, and Style. The Active variant is offered only with a manual gearbox whereas the rest of the variants get an option of an automatic gearbox. Also, the 1.5 TSI is offered only with the top-end Style variant.
Kushaq’s high pricing when compared to rivals
Skoda is offering a lot of features with the base spec Active variant because of which the starting prices of the Kushaq are a bit high when compared to other mid-size SUVs. This is because Skoda does not have a naked car in the Kushaq’s line-up. Even the lower-spec variant has a good amount of equipment and comes with a turbocharged engine.
Features
Kushaq comes with a multi-function steering wheel, 12V accessory socket, all four power windows, front armrest, LED Daytime Running Lamps, LED tail lamps, manual air conditioning, anti-glare outside rearview mirrors, basic multi-information display and rear parking sensors. Moreover, there is also a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, 6 speakers and Apple CarPlay.
For safety, Skoda Kushaq comes with dual airbags, an Anti-lock braking system, Brake Disc Wiping, Stability Control, Electronic Differential Lock System and Roll Over Protection system as standard.
Rivals
Kushaq competes against Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, MG Astor and Nissan Kicks. However, some of the higher variants of the Kushaq goes against Mahindra XUV700, Tata Harrier and MG Hector because of the pricing.
