India’s first Tata Punch to get an aftermarket electric sunroof

Tata launched their all-new SUV Punch in the market earlier this year. The car is currently known as the safest car in the segment with a 5 star safety rating. Tata Punch is actually being marketed as a micro SUV that competes with cars like Maruti Ignis and Mahindra KUV100. The response towards Tata Punch has been good so far and the car is now easily spotted on the road as well. People have also started modifying the car and many of them have been featured on our website as well. Here we have a Tata Punch video where the owner has installed an aftermarket electric sunroof in it.

The video has been uploaded by Rohit Mehta Sai Auto Accessories on their YouTube channel. This is probably the first Tata Punch in the country to get such a treatment. Unlike other videos that we have seen in the past, this is not a lower variant. This is the top-end version of Tata Punch but, the owner was not satisfied and wanted more features in it. That is why he went ahead and did all these modifications.

The main highlight of this Tata Punch is the electric sunroof. The placement of the roof is also different. Usually, it is kept at the front but, in this case, it is placed for the rear seat passengers. The aftermarket electric sunroof comes with three year warranty and the vlogger assures that this is a great product and he has installed the same on his Maruti Ertiga as well.

Other than the electric sunroof, the car gets custom made leatherette seat covers. The dual tone seat covers and steering cover give it a premium look. The plastic panels around the power window and on the dashboard gets a blue and black carbon finer finish. The Blue shade on the plastic trims is actually matching with the body colour. Other than this, the car gets ambient lights and lights on the footwell area. An illuminated scuff plate have also been installed on all the doors.

The lights in the headlamp and fog lamps have been replaced. They now get a combination of HID and LED units. The high beam lamps have a dual colour (white and yellow) lights which is helpful while driving through fog. The fog lamps also receive a similar treatment. The visibility increases when yellow light is used in foggy situations.

Other than this, no major modifications have been done to the exterior of the car. This was a high end version and the car comes all the features like touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, height adjustable driver seat, dual tone alloy wheels, projector headlamps and so on. The car comes with a petrol engine option only.

It is powered by a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated, three cylinder petrol engine that generates 86 Ps and 113 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox option. There is a possibility that Tata might bring a turbo petrol and and electric version of Punch in future.
