India’s first Volkswagen Virtus to get Satin Black wrap is here [Video]

Volkswagen discontinued their poular mid-size sedan Vento and replaced it with a much more premium sedan Virtus in the Indian market. Virtus is Volkswagen’s second product under the brand’s India 2.0 strategy. Volkswagen Virtus is one of the most powerful sedans in the segment and it competes with cars like Hyundai Verna. Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and even the Skoda Slavia. The car not only performs well, it is a great looker too. Virtus looks premium and for those who want a sportier version, there is the GT variant. There are variety of modification option available in the market for Virtus and here we have a video of India’s first Virtus to get a Satin Black coloured wrap.

The video has been uploaded by Pratham Shokeen on his YouTube channel. In this video, vlogger takes his brand new Volkswagen Virtus GT sedan to a detailing shop to get it wrapped. The original shade of the car is Carbon Steel Grey. It is not a bad colour in any manner but, the owner wanted something different for his car. That is why he thought of wrapping the car instead of going for matte PPF and other modifications.

He took the car to a detailing studio and the staff showed him couple of samples. He finalised black and in black, there were couple of options available too. The owner was confused between the gloss black and the satin black. Sample of both these shades were applied on the car and the owner liked the Satin and left the car at the workshop. When the owner came back after couple of days, he was blown away by the results. After the wrap was applied the stance of the car competely changed and the look of the car. Along with the wrap, the owner had also asked to completely dechrome the car.

The satin black wrap was looking brilliant on the car and it was looking a lot more sporty than a regular Virtus. The job was neatly done and the owner was satisfied with the results. He mentions it on the video that, it is probably the first Volkswagen Virtus in the country to get a satin black wrap. The alloy wheels were finished in gloss black from the factory and the brake calipers were finished in Red to enhance the sporty look. Thed dechromed grille and other garnishes also contribute to the look. Other than the wrap no other modifications have been done to the car. The owner mentions that it costed him around Rs 35,000 for the wrap and Rs 5,000 for dechroming.

Volkswagen Virtus GT is offered with features like ventilated seats, leatherette upholstery, electric sunroof, cruise control, automatic climate control, disc brakes and so on. Virtus is available with a 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine which comes with manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. This version generates 115 Ps and 178 Nm of peak torque. The next is the 1.5 GT version. It is available with a 7-speed DSG only. It generates 150 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque.
