India’s meanest modified Isuzu V-Cross is here, and it’s a total BEAST

The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross pick up truck is a mod magnet, and almost every V-Cross that rolls onto roads features one or the other customization. Here’s one that takes things to a whole new high, literally. Owned by photographer Abin Abraham, this V-Cross features a full half foot suspension lift. Now, that much height can mean only one thing – MASSIVE street presence.  This thing just towers over every other car, or for that matter SUV, on the road. Why, it even has a Royal Enfield Himalayan (Quite a tall bike in itself) strapped into its luggage bed. Enough talk, watch it in action for yourself.

This truck was built by Grid7 Customs of Kerala, and was recently featured at the Thrissur Motor Show. The list of modifications apart from the 6 inch suspension lift include and off road bumper and snorkel up front. These changes add the much needed mean-ness to go with the increase in ride height.

The truck rides on monstrous 305 /70 section Cooper all terrain tyres, shod on 16 inch Lenso Zeus Camel rims. The fenders have been custom-built to accommodate the extra width of the tyres. Other changes include top-spec PIAA LED Auxiliary Lamps, light bars, aftermarket LED Tail Lamps, Aeroklas Bed Liner and a chrome delete package for that all-black look.

The stock V-Cross gets a 2.5 liter common rail, turbo diesel engine with 134 Bhp-320 Nm on tap. A 5 speed manual gearbox is standard and so is a 4 wheel drive transfer case with low and high ranges. Remaps that push up outputs to 200 Bhp-480 Nm are available although this particular example doesn’t seem to be running one.

Even in stock form, the V-Cross is supremely capable both on and off road. Here’s a pick up truck that’ll give luxury SUVs a run for the money with a top speed of nearly 180 Kph. If that’s not impressive enough, how about the o-100 Kph sprint dispatched in a little over 12 seconds?

Well, this baby can really move and a remap will make it totally insane, and illegal if we may add. Off the road, the V-Cross’ high ground clearance of 225 mm and the four wheel drive system allow it to be driven to places that regular cars would fall way short of.
