Toyota Innova has been one trusted MPV in the Indian market. Recently, Toyota launched the facelift of the Innova, named as Innova Crysta. It’s already doing 8,000 units/month. Here are 10 things that you may not know about the best selling MPV in India.
It is fast…faster than the XUV
The Innova Crysta reaches 100km/h from standstill in just 11.5 seconds. The 2.8-liter engine is available only with the 6-speed automatic transmission. With 177 Bhp of maximum power, the MPV hit a top speed of 175 Kph. Well, this means that the Innova will be as fast as the Mahindra XUV500. The Innova is also available with a smaller, less powerful 2.4 liter diesel engine.
It’s the India’s SAFEST MPV
The top variant of Innova is loaded with 7-airbags. It becomes the first affordable MPV in India to offer 7 airbags. The long list of safety equipment continues with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Vehicle Stability Control (VCS) and Toyota’s highly acclaimed GOA body structure to keep the occupants safe during unforeseen situations.
Water, water everywhere
Innova Crysta’s space management is brilliant, the car has small cubby holes in all three rows. There are also as many as 20 bottle holders in the car. Be assured that you will remain well hydrated during your next trip in Crysta.
Easy Slide
Innova Crysta has become more concerned about the important people who always sit in the comfortable middle row. With the Easy Slide option, the passenger can make more space by adjusting the codriver’s seat. This is the first time that an MPV is offering such an option. No more distracting the driver for more space now.
Never let your sip become warm
The innovative upper glove box has a slide-out cup holder. It is positioned in such a way that the vent blows on it directly. Now you don’t have to finish your serve chilled drinks quickly before they become hot now.
World’s best diesel engine by Toyota
The GD engine family of Toyota was updated in 2015. It is the next generation technology and Toyota sells cars powered by the same engine in over 90 countries. The Innova Crysta is heavier than the previous model but is more powerful and is more fuel efficient too. The 2.4-litre engine with manual transmission returns 15.1 km/l while the 2.8-litre engine available with only automatic transmission returns 14.29 km/l.
Fastest MPV in the segment
The automatic variant of Innova can reach top speed of 175 km/h. That is way fast for a MPV. No other affordable MPV can do such speed. You sure will reach your destination way quicker in the Crysta.
Ease of use
Getting into the third row can be quite a task. The Innova Crysta solves the problem by introducing one-touch tumble seat. The second-row split seats can be folded with just one finger. Press the button situated on the second-row seat and it will fold neatly in front of you, giving you access to the third row. All other MPVs have a more conventional mechanism where the use of both the hands is mandatory.
Petrol Innova Crysta is round the corner
Toyota has already started taking bookings for the petrol powered Innova Crysta and the deliveries will start in August. Consequence of 2.0-litre and above diesel engine ban in many parts of the country, the petrol Innova is powered by 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine that produces maximum power of 160 Bhp.
First in class projector headlamps
Innova Crysta becomes the first MPV in its segment to get LED lamps along with projectors. The powerful headlamps light up the highway efficiently and make the night trips a fun and adventurous event.
