Hyundai’s upcoming hatchback which will be launched officially this year has been caught frequently testing in India. The new hatchback codenamed AH2 internally is expected to be named Santro. It will fill in the gap between Hyundai Eon and the Grand i10. In the latest set of spy pictures, the interior of the car has been revealed.
New spy pictures that show the dashboard of the vehicle suggests that the vehicle will get touch-screen infotainment system. The vehicle will take on the likes of Renault Kwid and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio in the market. Currently, only the Renault Kwid offers the touch-screen infotainment in the segment. The vehicle is expected to be launched by the end of this year but we can expect Hyundai to reveal a few details about the upcoming vehicle at the 2018 Auto Expo.
The heavily camouflaged vehicle looks production ready and Hyundai has already started producing the engine of the vehicle. The actual body shell of the vehicle has not been revealed as it is covered in a disguise that hides the actual curves of the hatchback. However, the vehicle is expected to follow Hyundai’s latest design philosophy and will get cascade grille in front. The headlamps are expected to get integrated LED daytime running lamps.
As Hyundai always add a long list of features in their vehicles, the Santro is also expected to get a good amount of goodies. Apart from the touch-sensitive infotainment, we can expect safety features like ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat hooks.
Hyundai is yet to reveal the engine details of the vehicle too. However, it is expected to be powered by a 0.8-litre engine and the 1.0-litre petrol engines in the vehicle. The diesel engine is not expected at the time of the launch. Hyundai will also offer AMT automatic transmission with the vehicle.
