The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited finally launched its much anticipated premium hybrid MPV Invicto in India at a starting price of Rs 24.79 lakh. This new model will take the top spot in Maruti Suzuki India’s portfolio and sit above the previous flagship model the mid-size Grand Vitara. As mentioned numerous times before the Invicto is a badge-engineered version of the Toyota’s highly popular hybrid MPV the Innova Hycross. First off, as mentioned from the outside the Invicto looks exactly like the Innova Hycross. However upon a more detailed glance it can be noted that the front grille and front bumper have been tweaked to make it appear different.

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto gets a grille similar to the mid-size Grand Vitara. For the Invicto instead of giving it a single thicker chrome bar the company has split it into two bars. Also as stated the front bumper has also been revised to differentiate the Invicto from the Innova Hycross.

From the rear the Invicto looks exactly the same as the Innova Hycross with the exception of a darker taillight.

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto is the first ever Maruti Suzuki model to feature an electric tailgate. It can be opened and closed via buttons.

Maruti Suzuki Invicto comes equipped with a comprehensive range of safety features, including multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors, and a reverse parking camera.

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto will also get a 7inch full-TFT instrument console which will change colors depending upon the drive mode selected.

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto comes equipped with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. It is connected to an e-CVT and has a combined output of 184 horsepower. The Invicto is currently the first Maruti Suzuki model to exclusively come in automatic and hybrid versions. The company claims that the Invicto can do 0-100 kmph speed in just 9.5 seconds and still offer a 23.24 kmpl fuel efficiency. The Toyota Innova Hycross and Toyota TNGA-C ‘High’ platforms share a monocoque chassis, which is the foundation for the Maruti Suzuki Invicto. An engine that is positioned transversely drives the front wheels.
