Mercedes-Benz launched the all-new GLC facelift back in August of last year. The company launched this SUV with a starting price tag of Rs 73.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the 300 4Matic petrol variant and Rs 74.5 lakh for the 220d 4Matic diesel variant. The exact variant opted for by Isha Talwar is currently unknown. The Mercedes GLC competes with the likes of the BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Volvo XC60, among others in India.
With the new facelift, the GLC’s design has evolved and now looks much more modern. It now sports a larger grille featuring a prominent three-pointed star logo, redesigned LED headlights which are now connected to the grille, and a redesigned front bumper. As for the changes on the side profile, it gets new 19-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, on the rear, the SUV now features much sleeker-looking LED taillights and a brand-new rear bumper.
On the inside, the new GLC boasts an interior that looks very similar to the new C-Class. The center is dominated by a massive 11.9-inch portrait-style touchscreen, complemented by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The SUV comes available with features such as an air purifier, 360-degree camera, 64-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and heated front seats with memory functions. Safety is well-addressed through a range of features, including seven airbags, pre-safe technology, and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) featuring blind spot assist, active lane keep assist, attention assist, active brake assist, and active parking assist.
As for the powertrain side of things, the new GLC comes available with two powertrain options. The GLC 300 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine generating 258hp and 400Nm of torque. On the other hand, the GLC 220d comes equipped with a 2.0-liter diesel engine producing 197hp and 440Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and Mercedes’ renowned 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. Additionally, a standard 48V mild-hybrid system, along with an integrated starter generator, offers an extra 23hp and 200Nm of torque.
