Isuzu Motors India launched their BS6 range of models in the market recently. The manufacturer is popular among customers for its lifestyle pickup truck V-Cross. Along with V-Cross, Isuzu is also offering a Hi-Lander version in the market and the manufacturer is currently offering benefits worth Rs 1.5 lakh with the Hi-Lander pickup truck.
Several Indian car manufacturers have launched similar vehicles in the segment but, they never became successful. The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross was the only lifestyle that became successful in the country. The V-Cross is aimed at buyers who like the outdoors and is now a common car among those who like off-roading activities.
Hi-Lander is actually a slightly premium version of the D-Max S-Cab pickup truck that is available for commercial segment. In this offer, a customer who already owns an SUV and wants to upgrade to Isuzu Hi-Lander will get benefits worth Rs 1.5 lakh on the ex-showroom price of the vehicle. This offer is currently not offered with the V-Cross version. The Hi-Lander is actually positioned under the V-Cross.
In terms of design, it looks like a specced down version of Isuzu V-Cross. It gets halogen headlamps, no fog lamps, steel rims instead of alloys and so on. It misses out on several features that are available with the V-Cross version. On the inside, the manual air conditioning, 4-speaker audio system, power windows, 60-40 split seats, central locking, rear parking sensors, fabric seats and so on. Isuzu Hi-Lander has been priced at Rs 16.98 lakh, ex-showroom. Another feature that is missing in the Hi-Lander is teh 4WD system. Unlike V-Cross, Hi-Lander is a rear wheel drive pickup truck.

The engine however remains the same. The Hi-Lander version is also powered by a 1.9 litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 163 Ps and 360 Nm of peak torque. The SUV or pickup truck is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox only. In the international market, Isuzu has already launched the updated version of V-Cross.
The one that we have in India is not that but, the same version that was discontinued from the market last year. The SUV is now available in two trims. There is a Z trim and there is Z Prestige trim. The Z variant offers features like LED projector headlamps with DRLs integrated inside, roof rails, passive entry and start system, 6-way adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, 7-inch touchscreen, parking camera and sensors. The Z version is available with both 4×4 and 2WD variants.
In the top-end Z Prestige variant, the SUV will offer all these features and additional features like 6 airbags, transfer case protector, hill descent control, hill start assist, stability control, traction control. anti-pinch windows, roof mounted speakers, electrically adjustable driver seat, cruise control, shift on the fly 4WD system and so on.
The Isuzu V-Cross is available with both manual and automatic transmission options depending upon the variant you choose. With all these changes in place, price for Isuzu has also increased. Price for the Z variant starts at Rs 19.98 lakh, ex-showroom and the Z Prestige version cost Rs 24.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
