Jaguar, Ford and Isuzu join bandwagon. Slash prices before GST

With the GST (Goods and Service tax) coming into effect on 1st of July, manufacturers have begun slashing prices of their vehicles already, so that there is no slow down in sales in the month of June. Last week, we saw BMW, Mercedes and Audi slash prices and offer benefits and now is the the turn of Jaguar, Ford and Isuzu.



Jaguar has announced a price cut across their range. The maximum cut is up to 12%. All the models that are made in India, namely the XE, XF and the XJ. This price drop will vary from state to state as well. For the XE, the drop is between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 5.7 lakh, where as that on the XJ ranges from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 10.9 lakh. Jaguar recently unveiled the all-new XE in diesel avatar too, which should also benefit from the same price cut.

Land Rover

Earlier last month, Land Rover slashed prices of its range of SUVs due to the weak British Pound against the Rupee. Prices were slashed upto Rs 50 lakh due to this. Now, we see another price reduction, but mainly in the models that are made here. So the Range Rover Evoque and the Land Rover Discovery Sport will see a price drop ranging from Rs 3.3 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh.



Isuzu too has joined the line up. The company introduced their all-new flagship SUV, the MU-X last week in India at a price of Rs 23.9 – Rs 25.9 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The company has dropped prices of the SUV by Rs 1.5 lakh, which means prices now range between Rs 22.4 to Rs 24.4 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi). Not only this, the company has also slashed prices of their popular pick-up truck, the V-Cross by Rs 60,000. The V-Cross now starts at Rs 12.7 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.



Ford too has dropped prices of the Ecosport by Rs 30,000 and the Aspire and Figo by Rs 10,000- Rs 25,000.
