Jaguar launches all-new XF in India

The British carmaker, Jaguar has launched the all-new XF in India. The ;luxury sedan goes on sale at a starting price of Rs. 49.5 lakh while the top variant of the car comes with a price tag of Rs. 62.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bookings for new XF have started and the car can be booked online or at the Jaguar outlets at Rs. 5 lakh. The deliveries start by the end of this month.

The new XF is available in 3 variants and the prices are as followed:


  • Pure – Rs. 49.5 lakh
  • Prestige – Rs. 55.9 lakh
  • Portfolio – Rs. 62.1 lakh


  • Prestige – Rs. 55.65 lakh
  • Portfolio – Rs. 61.85 lakh

What is new?


The new XF comes with a lot of design changes. It is lighter, it has more space now and the list of features has been updated. The new design of the new XF has been inspired by the F-Type sports car, making the XF look more aggressive and younger. The car is built on a new lightweight aluinium platform that makes the new car 190 kg lighter than the previous one.

Jaguar has also made the car compact by shortening it by 7mm and lowering it by 3mm when compared with the predecessor but the wheelbase has been increased by 51mm becasuse of the new platform. The longer wheelbase provides 15mm more legroom adn 24mm more kneeroom in the car. The headroom also increases by 27mm for the rear passengers. The new design of the car decreases the drag coefficient to 0.26 and the weight distribution is now 50:50 making it better to drive and handle than the previous XF.

The car features signature ‘J’ blade Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) giving a striking on road presence of the car. The front grille and the bumper have been redesigned along with  the air-intakes that are sleeker and have heavy use of chrome. At the rear, the tail lamps have been heavily inspired by the F-Type tail lamps.

Inside, the car gets 12.3-inch fully TFT instrument cluster, a 10.2-inch touch sensitive infotainment system, 10-color ambient lighting, 4-zone climate control and a laser Heads Up Display (HUD). The new XF can also be connected to phone and can features like starting the engine, switching on the AC can be controlled by the app directly.


Announcing the launch of the new XF, Rohit Suri, President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL), said “Over the years, Jaguar XF has gained immense popularity and success in the Indian market and we are excited to offer the all-new Jaguar XF to our discerning and distinguished customers passionate about owning a Jaguar.”

The biggest change in the car is the new Ingenium diesel engine. The all-new 2.0-litre diesel engine produces a maximum of 177 BHP and peak torque of 430 Nm. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit that produces 237 BHP of maximum power and 340 Nm of maximum torque. Both the engine options are available with 8-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
