Jawa marked its return to the Indian market amid much fanfare at the launch event of the Jawa Forty-two and the Jawa Classic in November last year. Both the bikes received tremendous response from interested buyers. Such was the response that the company had to stop accepting bookings from December 25, 2018, as it had sold out all the units of the motorcycles until September 2019. However, the deliveries of the bikes began only by the end of March this year, a wait of more than four months which made many to-be owners restless.
The deliveries of the dual channel ABS equipped Jawa bikes, however, have not started even now though due to which a social media user took to Twitter to ask when would he get his bike. He got a reply from Anupam Thareja, co-founder, Classic Legends, that the deliveries of the dual channel ABS equipped Jawa motorcycles will start reaching their customers by the end of this month, in order of the booking queue.
Someone will call you. However the deliveries of dual will start towards last week and depending on you number you should get it. Hang in there mate

Anupam has been quite active on Twitter regarding Jawa bikes and had previously revealed the ARAI certified mileage of the bikes upon being asked about it. To let you know, both the Jawa Forty-Two and the Jawa Classic have an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 37.5 km/h, which is the same as their chief rival, the Royal Enfield Classic 350. However, the Jawa bikes are more powerful as well as lighter than the Classic 350 which results in better overall performance. Among the two, the Forty-Two has a modern design while the Classic has a more retro design inspired by the Jawa bikes of the old.
Talking about the dual channel ABS version of the Jawa bikes, they were introduced in December last year, about a month later from the date when the bikes with single channel ABS were launched. The rear drum-brake and single-channel ABS version of the Jawa Forty-Two is priced at Rs. 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the Jawa Classic is priced at Rs. 1.64 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The rear disc and dual-channel ABS version of the bikes, on the other hand, are priced at Rs. 1.64 lakh and 1.73 lakh respectively (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
coming to the firepower on these bikes, Jawa has used a Mahindra Mojo derived 293cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine that produce a peak power of 27 Bhp and 28 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard on both the bikes. A bigger bore version of this engine has been used on the Jawa Perak. For the uninitiated, the Jawa Perak is a bobber themed bike that was showcased at the Jawa launch event in November but was not launched at that time. It had a sticker price of Rs. 1.80 lakh at that time, which is expected to go up when the bike gets launched by August or September this year.
