Jawa & Jawa Forty-Two official accessories revealed [Video]

The Jawa and the Jawa Forty-Two motorcycles by the company have gained quite a lot of popularity ever since their launch. The company started the deliveries of both the bikes recently and Anupam Thareja, the founder of Classic Legends, recently said that all the deliveries will be done by September. Now a video has surfaced online which shows a Jawa Forty-two standing at a dealership with several official accessories fitted on it. As seen in the video, the bikes look pretty cool with the variety of official accessories on it. This includes a crash guard, saree guard, pillion backrest and a luggage rack. Also, the motorcycle showcased at the launch event had bar end mounted mirrors but the one seen in the video gets conventionally placed rear-view mirrors. This probably hints towards the bar-end units to be available as optional accessories. Moreover, the centre-stand too would be available as an optional extra. The prices of these accessories are not known but it is expected that Jawa will not price them exorbitantly.

Apart from these accessories, Jawa sells a host of branded merchandise through its dealerships. This includes helmets, saddlebags, t-shirts, jackets, and bags among others. This is in lieu of the company’s vision to be seen more than just a motorcycle brand. The Jawa motorcycles have ridden high on the nostalgia factor until now as the older generation people are quite well acquainted with the brand and its bikes. With all these merchandise and goodies, Jawa is looking for a more lifestyle brand approach in order to woo the younger generation. Its chief competitor Royal Enfield too offers similar merchandise from its dealerships, though it has been doing this for long now and has a vast lineup of accessories.

The Jawa bikes are powered by a 293cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC engine which churns out 27 Bhp of power along with 28 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. As for the suspension duties, the front end gets telescopic hydraulic forks while the rear end sports gas canister twin shock absorbers. The ARAI certified fuel efficiency score of the motorcycles stands at 37.5 km/l, which is pretty decent.  The motorcycles also get the option of dual-channel ABS now, through a single channel ABS is sold as standard on the bikes.

The standard, rear drum-brake version of the Jawa is priced at Rs. 1.55 lakh and the Jawa Forty-Two is priced at Rs. 1.64 lakhs, both price ex-showroom, Delhi. The rear disc and dual-channel ABS version of the bikes are priced at a premium of Rs. 9,000 each, which makes them available at Rs. 1.64 lakh and 1.73 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi).
