Jawa Motorcycles has teased that they are bringing back Yezdi. The manufacturer shared a post on Twitter saying Yezdi will now be striking on its own. However, it is important to note that Jawa, Yezdi and BSA will still belong under Classic Legends. Yezdi on their Twitter has also teased Yezdi Roadking. They have used a #YezdiRoadking on their Twitter handle.
Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra group also teased Yezdi by saying, “I guess I’ve got #Y on my mind. After all, the legend is back! #YezdiForever”. Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Classic Legends also wrote on Twitter that it is about time they bring another brother back.
Yezdi is working on two new motorcycles. There will be a scrambler and an adventure tourer. Both motorcycles have been spied while they were on a test and they are expected to launch sometime next year. Because Yezdi and Jawa fall under the same family, the motorcycles will share some of the same underpinnings.

One of these motorcycles will be called the Roadking. As of now, it is not clear whether it will be the scrambler or the adventure tourer. Jawa currently has two engines under its portfolio. Both are single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
There is a 293 cc engine that produces 27.33 PS of max power and 27.02 Nm of peak torque. This engine is used on the Jawa Jawa and Jawa 42. Then there is a 334 cc version of the same engine that is being used on the Perak. It produces 30.64 PS of max power and 32.74 Nm of peak torque.
We expect the adventure tourer to use the bigger 334 cc mill considering it is a larger motorcycle and would require more power. It is not clear whether Yezdi will use the 293 cc unit or the 334 cc for the scrambler.
The Yezdi Scrambler will compete against the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350 which is also expected to have a similar design language.
The Yezdi ADV’s primary rival will be the Royal Enfield Himalayan and it will also compete against the KTM 250 Adventure. The ADV has been spied up close so we know more details about it.
It will use a circular LED headlamp with circular turn indicators and a tail lamp. Unlike, the Jawa motorcycles that use a twin exhaust setup, the ADV will use a single exhaust mounted on the right side. It will be an up-swept unit to increase the ground clearance.
We also know that it will come with a digital instrument cluster, a tall windscreen, slightly front set footpegs, wide and tall handlebar and split flat seats. So, the riding ergonomics will be comfortable for the rider.
The design of the motorcycle looks function over form and it seems to have some Himalayan elements in it. There is also an exoskeleton on the front which can be used to mount luggage or jerry cans and there are also saddle stays. We expect that Yezdi will offer many touring friendly accessories.
