The Compass has been the most successful vehicle for Jeep in India and has established the brand in the country. However, with the recent onslaught of new launches in the segment, the Compass has lost the sheen it once had. For the same, Jeep India dealers are offering multiple discounts and benefits on most Jeep Compass variants. According to a report by ACI, the SUV is getting a maximum discount of up to Rs. 1.2 lakh right now. The discount varies according to different variants of the SUV and most of the variant are getting good discounts.
Speaking of which, the base variant of the Compass, which is the Sport diesel 4X2 MT, is getting a cash discount of around Rs 1 lakh. The same variant with the petrol engine is getting discounts of around 50,000. The diesel 4X2 MT versions of the Jeep Compass Longitude, Longitude (O), Limited and Limited (O) are getting discounts worth up to Rs. 1.2 lakh. Additionally, the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol Jeep Compass Longitude (O), Limited and Limited (O) are getting a cash discount of around Rs 65,000.
Apart from these, the top-spec Limited Plus variants of the Compass is being offered with discounts and benefits of around Rs 80,000 for both petrol and diesel-powered models. The recently launched 4×4 Compass Trailhawk, on the other hand, is getting benefits of around Rs 30,000 at some locations. The Jeep Compass Sport Plus, however, does not get any discounts currently.
Talking about the Jeep Compass, the SUV is offered with by three engine options right now. There is a 1.4-litre, 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 158 Bhp of power along with 250 Nm. Then there is a 2-litre, 4 cylinder turbo Multijet diesel engine that churns out 170 Bhp of power along with 350 Nm. the same engine is also found under the hood of the Tata Harrier and the MG Hector, albeit in a different state of tune. A front-wheel-drive layout is standard across the petrol-powered Compass variants while Jeep offers an all-wheel-drive option with the diesel-engined variants. A 6 speed manual gearbox is offered with both the petrol and diesel engines while a 7 speed, twin-clutch automatic gearbox is offered as an option with the Compass Petrol.
The recently launched Trailhawk edition of the SUV is also powered by the same 2.0 litre multijet engine but it has been upgraded to be BSVI compliant. Power output remains the same at 170 Bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 9-speed DCT transmission and is equipped with a proper 4×4 drivetrain. The Jeep Compass range in India starts at Rs 15.60 lakh for the base petrol Sport variant and goes all the way up to Rs 23.11 lakh* for the Compass Limited Plus.. The Compass Trailhawk has recently been launched at Rs 26.8 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
