We have seen IT companies gifting their employees cars and bikes during the festival season. Such gifts are often given by employers to employees for their commitment and loyalty towards the firm. Companies even recognize some of their employees by offering such gifts. Recently, cement manufacturer JK Cement also organized a similar event where they recognized 65 of their best-performing dealers and gifted them Mahindra XUV700s and Scorpio N SUVs.

The company offered the cars as a token of gratitude for their outstanding performance, which resulted in or contributed to the growth of the company. All 65 cars that were gifted to the dealers are finished in white. The cars were gifted to the best-performing dealers all across the nation and were not limited to a region.

The Mahindra XUV700 is currently the flagship model on sale by Mahindra in the Indian market. It is also the most feature-loaded and technologically advanced SUV from the Indian SUV manufacturer.

Mahindra launched the XUV700 in 2021, and since then, it has been doing great in terms of sales. It was the first SUV in the segment to come with level 2 ADAS. In fact, it was the SUV that started the trend of ADAS in this segment. A few years after the launch of the XUV700, Mahindra launched the all-new Scorpio N. They did not discontinue the original Scorpio; instead, they renamed it to Scorpio Classic.

From the image, it doesn’t look like JK Cement gifted any Scorpio Classics. They gifted the Scorpio N and XUV700s only. The Scorpio N also became an instant hit in the market and is currently the only 7-seater SUV in the segment to offer a 4×4 system as an option. The details regarding the variants of the cars gifted to the dealers are not mentioned here.

This is not the first time we have come across a report like this. In 2017, Surat-based diamond merchant Savjibhai Dholakia, the owner of Hare Krishna Exporters, gifted 1,200 units of Datsun Redi-Go hatchbacks to his employees. A year before that, he had gifted around 1,260 Maruti and Datsun cars to his employees.

If we come to the year 2024, we had a Chennai-based IT firm that gifted 50 Maruti cars to its employees for their loyalty. We also saw a Panchkula-based pharma company gift 12 Tata Punch cars to their employees on the occasion of Diwali. The owner was so satisfied with the performance and loyalty of the employees that he even gifted the office boy a car.

Getting gifts like this is not a new thing. It is not just employees who are given such gifts. We also have examples in the form of Bollywood actors and celebrities who have received expensive gifts from the producer of a movie after the film performed well at the box office.

One of the biggest names in Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan, had once received a Rolls Royce Phantom luxury sedan as a gift upon the completion of the movie “Eklavya.” Similarly, Kartik Aaryan was gifted a McLaren GT entry-level supercar by Bhushan Kumar after his movie Bhool Bhulaiya 2 did well in theateres.
