Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan spotted in their Jeep Wrangler [Video]

After spending a reasonable amount of time with the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor took delivery of the Jeep Wrangler last year. According to the rumours, the Wrangler was given to Taimur as a gift. In a new video, Taimur was spotted with his parents Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the American SUV Jeep Wrangler.

The video is shot somewhere in Mumbai. Seems like the family is leaving after a visit. The Jeep Wrangler parked on the alley and waiting for the family shows Taimur getting into the SUV followed by his parents. Even Kareena’s elder sister Karishma Kapoor was spotted getting into the Jeep Wrangler.

Saif Ali Khan, who owns several high-end vehicles is an automobile enthusiast himself. He chose to drive the Wrangler himself while Kareens Kapoor took the co-driver seat. While there is no footage of Saif Ali Khan driving the Wrangler, he sure has been spotted in the past while driving other vehicles.

Jeep Wrangler is locally assembled

The Wrangler is locally assembled but is largely imported. Jeep only sells the five-door variant of the Jeep Wrangler in the Indian market. It draws power from a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The four-cylinder engine generates a maximum power of 268 PS and a peak torque of 400 Nm. It gets an 8-speed torque converter as standard. It is the only engine and transmission option that are available with the made-in-India Wrangler. There is no diesel engine available with the Wrangler.

This is an updated version of the Wrangler, which looks exactly identical on the outside but gets a slew of modern bits inside the cabin. The centre stage is taken by an updated 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Uconnect 4C NAV connected tech with Navigation. The infotainment system also comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Then there are other features such as a multi-function steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, push-button to start/stop, keyless entry, multi-information display with analogue instrument cluster and a lot more. There is leather upholstery with contrast stitching and it comes in a 5-seat layout.

Saif also used the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

A few years ago, Jeep India handed over a Grand Cherokee SRT to Saif Ali Khan and his family for promotional use. The SUV was with Saif Ali Khan for a few months. However, the car officially belonged to Jeep India.

The vehicle came with a price tag of Rs 1.3 crore. However, Saif did not pay anything for the vehicle as it came for promotional use. The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT features a 6.4-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine that produces 470 Bhp of peak power and 640 Nm of peak torque. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is standard and so is an all-wheel drive system. The SUV goes from a standstill to 100 Kph in just 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 257 Kph. It’s priced at Rs. 1.14 crores and is imported into India as a completely built unit (CBU).

Unlike the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Jeep Wrangler is registered to Saif Ali Khan Pataudi. Interestingly, Sara Ali Khan, who is Saif’s eldest daughter moves around in a Jeep Compass.
