Kartik Aryan became the newest celebrity owner of Lamborghini Urus in India. The Urus is the quickest selling Lamborghini in the history of the Italian performance car manufacturer and it is the first modern SUV from the brand. Due to the high demand, it does take time for the Lamborghini to ship the Urus to India but Kartik did not want to wait.
To avoid waiting for his new car, Kartik Aryan airlifted the Urus from Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, the home of Lamborghini. Kartik had to spend a lot to get his hands on the Urus three months earlier. According to the National Herald, Kartik Aryan spent around Rs 50 lakh to airlift the Lamborghini Urus. It was the fastest way for him to get his hands on the car.
The Lamborghini Urus already costs a lot due to the CBU import duties in India. The price of the Urus is around Rs 4.5 crore, on-road and Rs 3 crore, ex-showroom. Kartik chose the black colour for his SUV and he has also got a fancy registration number plate on his car.
Kartik already has a few luxury cars in his garage including a BMW 5-Series and MINI Cooper. He gifted the MINI to his mother on her birthday. Kartik also owns and rides a Royal Enfield.
Fastest selling Lamborghini
The Lamborghini Urus is the fastest-selling model from the Italian car manufacturer in India. Lamborghini has delivered more than 50 units of the Urus in India and many celebrities including the Ambani family also owns it. This is the first modern-day SUV from the brand and it has gained attention around the world.
It is one of the quickest and fastest SUVs in the world too. Powering the Urus is a 4.0-litre Twin-Turbocharged V8 petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 641 Bhp and a peak torque of 850 Nm. It generates enough power to do 0-100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 12.8 seconds. It is an all-wheel-drive car and gets an automatic transmission. The top speed is electronically limited to 305 km/h for safety reasons.
The Urus also gets features like torque vectoring on the rear axle and rear-wheel steering system. The rear-wheel steering is quite useful, especially for sporty vehicles. The wheels move in the opposite direction to the front wheels at a slower speed to reduce the turning radius. While they move in the same direction at a higher speed to give more stability.
The popularity of the Urus is on a rise in India and Bollywood stars like Ranveer Singh and industrialists like the Poonawalla have also bought the new sporty SUV. The on-road price of the SUV is around Rs 3.55 crore, which is quite a lot. The Urus is quite practical because of its high ground clearance while the powerful engine and the razor-sharp design makes the car very popular.
