Kia Carens is the latest entrant into the 7-seater or three row SUV or MUV segment. Carens is Kia’s fourth product for Indian market after Seltos, Sonet and Carnival. The Carens is being market as an MUV and is designed like one. Although it is based on Kia Seltos platform it looks different from its 5-seater SUV sibling. Kia has also priced it competitively. The base variant of the Carens is even cheaper than the base variant of Kia Seltos. Due to this attractive pricing, Carens has attracted a lot of customers. Here we have a video where the interiors of the lower variant Prestige have been neatly customised to look more premium.
The video has been uploaded by Car Stylein on their YoTube channel. In this video, vlogger talks about all the customisation that have been done to the car. The Carens seen here is the Prestige variant which is one above the base Premium trim. The car comes with some features but, most of the convenience features that were offered with the car are not available. It gets fabric seats, a regular looking touchscreen infotainment system, hard plastic panels on door and dashboard and so on.

In this video, vlogger shows how the work on this Carens was done. It shows how the car looked when it arrived at the workshop and how it is leaving. As this is the lower variant it does not get all LED headlamps, fog lamps, LED DRLs, alloy wheels and many more features. Vlogger mentions that they are not doing any modification to the exterior. The seats, steering and the plastic panels on the door were removed for customisation.
Measurement of the floor was taken and custom made 9D mats were installed in the car. Vlogger mentions that the seats were removed so that the mats can be installed properly. The interior gets Ice Grey and Black dual tone theme. The seats are all wrapped in high quality artificial leather. The seats gets Ice Grey colour leatherette custom seat cover with diamond pattern on it. The dashboard gets a carbon fibre finish in gloss and the same pattern can be seen on the door panels as well.
The plastic panels on the door also gets gloss black finish. The original dual tone finish of the cabin has been retained. The car retains the original touchscreen infotainment system. The steering on this Kia Carens was also wrapped in dual tone leatherette upholstery. Other than this, the car also gets ambient lights that can be controlled using a mobile application.
Kia Carens is available with three different engine options. The car gets two petrol and one diesel engine option. The Kia Carens gets a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 115 Ps and 144 Nm of peak torque. It is available with a manual and an IVT gearbox. The next engine option on offer is the 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine that generates 115 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine also gets manual and automatic transmission. The last engine on offer is the 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine that generates 140 Ps and 242 Nm of peak torque. It comes with a manual and 7-speed DCT gearbox.
