Kia Carens X-Line launched at Rs 18.95 lakh

Kia India has announced new variants of the Carens as the festive season begins in India. The new variant, the Carens X-Line, will be available in two additional options. It sits at the top of the MPV’s model range, with prices starting at Rs 18.95 lakh and going up to Rs 19.44 lakh. This makes it about Rs 54,000 more expensive than the equivalent Luxury Plus variant.

The X-Line trim was first introduced on the Seltos compact SUV and later made available with the Sonet subcompact SUV as well. It adds a matte stealth finish to the exterior scheme and introduces a new cabin theme. The Carens X-Line will only be available in the six-seater variant.

On the exterior, the Carens X-Line receives a new “Xclusive Matte Graphite” paint job. Inside the cabin, the car features the “Xclusive Two-Tone Black and Splendid Sage Green” theme. There is also special contrasting orange stitching on the seats, armrests, steering wheel, and gear lever cover.

The X-Line variant also offers a rear seat entertainment package, which is not available with any other variants. These new features provide access to options like podcasts, screen mirroring, and a variety of other entertainment and news apps. The rear screens can also be operated through a smartphone app.

The X-Line variant includes other top-end features that are also available with the Luxury Plus trim. It carries all the features that are already available with the top-spec variant of the Carens model.

The Kia Carens was introduced to the Indian market in February 2022 at an introductory price of Rs 8.99 lakh. However, the prices of the entire lineup of Kia Carens were revised in April 2022, with some variants receiving steep price hikes of up to Rs 70,000. The Kia Carens is available in India with three engine options, including a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated 115 PS petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbocharged 140 PS petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre 115 PS diesel engine.

It comes equipped with a host of features, such as 64-colour ambient lighting, leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, air purifier, Kia Connect telematics system, single-pane sunroof, and roof-mounted AC vents for the second and third rows. In terms of safety features, Kia has made a strong impression by offering six airbags, electronic stability control, hill descent control, hill start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and all-wheel disc brakes as standard.
