Kia is all set to launch its second product in the Indian market. The all-new Kia Carnival will be launched at the 2020 Auto Expo. Before that, the manufacturer has officially announced all the details about the upcoming luxury MPV. Kia has also officially revealed the variant details of the car.
The all-new Kia Carnival will be available in 7-seats, 8-seats and 9-seats configuration. There will be three trim levels of the Carnival – Premium, Prestige and Limousine. The 7-seater version of the Carnival will be available with standard captain seats for the middle row.
Customers can even choose the Luxury VIP optional seats that offer individual retractable leg rests. The 8-seater version of the Carnival will offer four captain seats while the 9-seater version will offer six captain seats. The 9-seater version will have a four-row layout.
The base Premium version of the Kia Seltos will offer features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. There will be a four-speakers, 2-tweeters sound system with steering-mounted audio controls. Also, features include reverse camera, cruise control, smart key with push-button start, tilt and telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and disc brakes of all the four wheels. It also gets 18-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels that make the Carnival look quite enticing.
The mid-level Premium trim line of the Kia Carnival offers LED projector headlamps, signature ‘Ice Cube’ LED fog lamps, LED tail lamps, electrically powered tailgate, dual-panel electric sunroof, electrically-powered folding wing mirrors, chrome accents for the exterior and more. The Prestige variant will offer side and curtain airbags, front parking sensors, electronic stability control, rollover mitigation and cornering brake control. The Kia Carnival Prestige variant will be available in 9-seater or 7-seater options.
The Limousine variant will be the range-topping version of the MPV. It will be a 7-seater car with luxury VIP seats as standard. All the upholstery in the vehicle are of Nappa leather and even the steering wheel gets leather wrapping. This variant also offers a long list of features including UVO connected infotainment system similar to the Seltos. The top-of-the-line Carnival also gets three-zone automatic climate control system, powered rear doors, Harman Kardon 8-speaker system, air purifier, electronic parking brake, 10-way adjustable powered driver’s seat with ventilation, wireless smartphone charging, smartwatch connectivity, individual entertainment screen of 10.1-inch for the rear seat passengers.
The Kia Carnival will come powered by a 2.2-litre BS6 compliant diesel engine. The engine churns out a maximum power of 200 Bhp at 3,800 rpm and peak torque of 440 Nm between 1,500 and 2,750 rpm. The It gets an 8-speed automatic transmission. Kia is expected to put a price tag of around Rs. 26-30 lakhs on the MPV. It will sit above the best selling Toyota Innova Crysta in terms of positioning.
