Indian car buyers have slowly started to accept electric vehicles due to the ever-increasing fuel costs in the country and to capitalize on this growing demand various manufacturers are planning to expand their EV portfolios. One of the major automakers that is very close to bringing its first electric offering in the nation is the South Korean automaker, Kia. According to media reports, the company is planning to bring its first global all-electric product the EV6 to the Indian subcontinent by the June of this year.
Reports around the imminent launch of the EV6 suggest that Kia will be bringing this all-electric model via the CBU route to India. This means that there will be no apparent changes to the design, features, e-GMP platform or electric powertrain of the vehicle. The fully electric crossover from Kia utilizes the ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy from the brand and has resulted in a very modern and sporty looking vehicle.
On the exterior, the distinctive design of the EV6 features a lot of sharp lines along with an aggressive-looking front bumper. It also gets a set of intelligent all-LED headlights, a one-of-a-kind, rear LED light setup that stretches in a curved line connecting the rear wheel arches on either side and a multitude of LEDs that create a piano-look effect. The EV6’s roofline ends with a wing-type roof spoiler and it also gets flush door handles that pop out when the vehicle is approached.
