Kia Motors India has now silently introduced a six-seater variant of Carnival luxury MPV in the market. Carnival is currently the most expensive product from the manufacturer in India. The newly added version of Carnival is offered with captain seats for both second and third row seats. Kia Carnival was earlier available in seven, eight and nine seat configurations. With 9-seater version discontinued from the market, Kia Carnival offers a lot more space on the inside. With all three rows up, the 6-seater version offers a boot space of 540 litres. This can be expanded up to 2,759 litres by folding the third and second and third row.
Apart from this everything else remains the same in Kia Carnival. Kia is now working on a new MPV for Indian market and the same has been spotted testing couple of times. According to reports, the upcoming MPV from the manufacturer is likely to be called Carens. Not much information is available about the MPV but, it is likely to compete with Maruti Eritiga and XL6 when launched. Like other Kia products, the upcoming MPV is expected to be offered with several features like all LED headlamps and tail lamps, electric sunroof, large touchscreen, connected car features, ventilated seats, alloy wheels and so on.
Unlike other car manufacturers, Kia is expected to offer the new MPV with both petrol and diesel engine options. The engine is most likely to be the same 1.5 litre petrol and diesel units that are seen in Seltos. Kia is working on the MPV and it might also get automatic and iMT gearbox as option.
