Kia Motors recently updated both of its SUVs that are on sale in the Indian market. Now, the manufacturer has launched a new TVC for the 2022 Sonet and the 2022 Seltos. The price of the new Seltos starts at Rs. 10.19 lakhs ex-showroom and the price of the new Sonet starts at Rs. 7.15 lakhs ex-showroom.
The new TVC emphasises on the new safety and connected features that Kia has added to both the SUVs. Kia has also added two new exterior paint schemes to Sonet and Seltos. The new colours are called Sparkling Silver and Imperial Blue.

2022 Seltos
Kia has introduced a new gearbox option for the diesel engine. It is the 6-speed iMT or intelligent Manual Transmission that we have seen on the Sonet, Hyundai Venue and i20. It is essentially a clutchless manual gearbox. It would be offered with the 1.5-litre diesel engine. People who want to enjoy the convenience of automatic transmission but cannot afford it will be opting for this transmission. There is also a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission on offer. The engine still produces 115 PS of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The Diesel iMT will be offered only on HTK+ variant.
Other changes include paddle shifters, drive modes and traction modes on all variants that are equipped with an automatic transmission. A new HTX AT variant has also been introduced. Kia has also added side airbags, Brake Assist, rear disc brakes, Highline Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Electronic Stability Control and Vehicle Stability Management on all variants. The HTX+ variant now comes with curtain airbags also and the Seltos logo has also been updated. All these changes make the total number of variants to 19. The prices starts at Rs. 10.19 lakhs ex-showroom and they go up to Rs. 18.45 lakhs ex-showroom.
There are no other changes to the engines. Apart from the diesel engine, there is a 1.4-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol. The turbo petrol produces 140 PS and 242 Nm whereas the naturally aspirated petrol produces 115 PS and 144 Nm.
2022 Sonet
Kia has added safety features to the Sonet to increase the safety quotient. It now comes with Highline Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and side airbags as standard. Variants with the iMT gearbox get Hill Assist Control, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management and Brake Assist. From HTX+ variants you would be able to get curtain airbags.
From HTX variants you would get the 4.2-inch colour instrument cluster and from HTE variants, you would get semi leatherette upholstery. The logo of Sonet has also been updated. Now, the Sonet will be sold in 21 variants and the prices will start from Rs. 7.15 lakhs ex-showroom and go up to Rs. 13.09 lakhs ex-showroom.
There are no changes to the engine or the gearbox. It still is offered with three engine options. There is a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The turbo petrol produces 120 PS and 172 Nm, the naturally aspirated petrol produces 83 PS and 113 Nm and the diesel engine produces 100 PS/240 Nm or 115 PS/250 Nm if you get the automatic transmission.
