Kia Seltos was South Korean manufacturers first SUV in our country. It is a global SUV and is sold in international market with different engine and transmissions. Kia has now how revealed an updated 2021 version of the Seltos SUV in Korea. The 2021 version of the Seltos also gets a new top-end trim which is known as Gravity. Internationally, Kia has different trim levels like Trend, Prestige and Signature. The new Gravity trims will sit above all the other trims.
Kia has made sure that the Gravity trim looks different from the other variants. They have made number of cosmetic changes to the mid-size SUV. Starting with the front grille, it retains the tiger nose design but, the elements inside, the grille have been revised. it gets a chrome studded, hot-stamped, three-dimensional design that gives it a premium look.
Apart from the redesigned grille, the bumper remains the same. Moving to the side profile, it gets a newly designed machine cut 18 inch alloy wheels, silver inserts on ORVMs and side cladding on lower part of the doors. A silver garnish is also there at the rear skid plate. As Gravity is the top-end trim now, it gets a host of features. It gets safety features like forward collision prevention assistance system, rear passenger notification system that notifies the driver about a passenger or a child sitting in the rear seat before exiting the car.
The dashboard design in the left hand drive version is quite different from the one sold in India. It still offers features like a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment screen with UVO connected features, ambient lighting, Bose audio system, climate control, wireless phone charging, remote engine start from key fob and so on. 2021 version of Kia Seltos also gets safety features like lane keep assist and high beam assist function as standard.
Kia Seltos Gravity gets the same engine as the other trims. It is powered by a 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engine generating a maximum of 177 Bhp and a 1.6 litre diesel engine generating 136 Bhp. It is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox as standard and all-wheel drive option is also available in both engine options depending up on the trim. The Seltos sold in India sits in the compact SUV segment, rivaling the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. In India, the Seltos is offered with three engines: two petrols and one diesel. All engines get manual and automatic gearbox options.
