Kia launched their first model Seltos in Indian market earlier this year and the response from customers towards this new brand has been outstanding. It has gained a lot of popularity among the people. The Seltos was so popular that it had received over 30,000 bookings even before the price was announced.
Kia Seltos is a mid-size SUV and one of its main competitor is Hyundai Creta. According to the sales report for the month of September 2019, Kia Seltos is outselling Hyundai Creta in the segment. Kia sold around 7,754 units of Seltos in September. That’s how popular this new SUV is. Here we have video by Turbo Xtreme which compares base and the top model of the new Kia Seltos.
The video simply points out the difference between the base and the top trim of the Kia Seltos. The comparison is done between the diesel automatic versions of the Seltos. It starts with the front where the difference is easily visible. Even though the basic design of the headlamp remains same, they are different from each other in many ways. The LED DRL is different in top model it starts from the headlamp and goes up till the Kia logo on the front grille, whereas in base trim the DRL inside the grille is not there. Design of the front grille is another thing that is differentiates both the models.
The headlights are different, the base model gets normal headlamps with projector headlamps in the bottom and the top end trim gets an all LED headlamp unit. with LED fog lamps and indicators which is missing on the base model. Positioning and design of the lights are also different in both the cars. The size of the tyres used on both models are different as well. The base model of the Seltos comes with a 16-inch alloy wheels whereas the higher variant gets a 17-inch alloy wheel.
Next difference is the interiors. The top-end trim comes with electrically adjustable seat, ventilated seats, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, sunroof and Bose audio system. The base model misses out on these features and gets all black interiors with a simple touchscreen system and manually adjustable driver seats.
Kia had launched Seltos with three engine options. It is available with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. All three engine options get three different types of automatic transmission. The starting price of the Kia Seltos is around Rs 10.8 lakhs.
