Kia Seltos and Kia Carens: Top-end variants compared on video

Kia recently launched their three row MUV Carens in the market recently. Just like any other Kia product in Indian market, Carens is also priced competitively. It is priced in such a manner that it is even cheaper than the 5-seater Kia Seltos. There are several videos available for Kia Carens on internet explaining the features and space. Here we have a video where the top-end variant of Kia Carens and Kia Seltos GT Line SUV.

The video has been uploaded by KAMAL YADAV on his YouTube channel. In this video vlogger compares the exterior, interior and features of the top-end variants of Kia Seltos and Kia Carens. He even talks about the overall design of both the vehicles. Vlogger starts with the exterior design features of both the vehicles. He talks about the Seltos first and he personally liked the design of the Seltos more than that of Carens. He calls the design aggressive on Seltos. The top-end variant gets all LED headlamps, split LED DRLs, all LED turn indicators, ice cube design fog lamps.

As this is the GT Line variant, there are Red accents and GT Line badge on the front grille and tail gate. The Seltos comes with 17 inch diamond cut alloy wheels with Red accents. The tail lamps are all LED and there are chrome outlines on front grille and between the tail lamps at the rear. Moving to Kia Carens, the vlogger mentioned that design is not for everyone as some may like it and some may not. The car comes with distinct looking gloss black front grille with dual function LED DRLs integrated as an extension of the grille. The headlamps are placed on the bumper and are all LED units.

The fog lamps are placed on the lower part of the bumper next to the lower grille. A chrome outline is seen around the lower grille. Carens also gets all LED tail lamps but, there is a reflector bar connecting the tail lamps as well. The design of the alloy wheels are different and are 16 inch units. Both Seltos and Carens come with chrome lower window garnish, chrome door handles, request sensors, remote central locking and roof rails.

Vlogger then starts comparing the interiors. In Carens, the car gets leatherette upholstery in the top-end variant and looks premium. The main difference in comparison to Seltos is the third row seats. Vlogger mentions that in order to accommodate the third row, the comfort for passengers in the second row has got affected in Carens. He mentions that Seltos feels a lot more comfortable in terms of space and seating comfort. The Carens offers redesigned dashboard with a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, air purifier integrated behind driver seat, retractable tray behind the co-passenger seat, manually adjustable driver seat, tilt and telescopic steering wheel and fully digital instrument cluster.

Kia Seltos being the GT Line version has sporty looking all-black cabin with red stitching on seats and door pads. The car comes with different layout and touchscreen infotainment system, 360 degree camera, HUD, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, LED cabin lights and so on. Kia Seltos offers electrically adjustable driver seat as well. Both car offer features like ventilated front seats, air purifier, connected car features and so on.

Both SUVs are powered by the same engine and gearbox. They are available with a 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine that generates 140 Ps and 242 Nm of peak torque. Both the cars are available with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Other than this, both Seltos and Carens are available with a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5 litre diesel engine.
