Home Delivery of fuel is a common thing in Arabian and other western countries. This system is yet to become popular in India but, there are some agencies who are offering these services. Here we have a video that shows how vlogger got his Kia Seltos refulelled at home through ‘Fuel on Call’ system. This is a fuel home delivery system that allows people to refuel their vehicle without actually going to a fuel station. The video shows the whole process and explains how convenient or inconvenient his overall experience was.
The video has been uploaded by Arun Panwar on their youtube channel. The video starts with vlogger showing the instrument cluster of his Kia Seltos diesel. As per the video, he had returned from a trip and the fuel in his car is about to finish. The distance to empty indicator on the cluster shows 34 kms. The vlogger makes a call to the home delivery guys and decide to meet them at a location where they can park vehicles properly.
The roads at the place where vlogger lives is quite narrow and two vehicles cannot be parked side by side. He takes it to a nearby road, where the a fuel tanker was waiting for them. The fuel tanker is parked next to the Seltos and start refueling. The truck or the tanker that is carrying the fuel has a fuel dispenser with it. The vlogger fills fuel in his tank to the brim and makes payment using card.
The price of the fuel is the same as petrol station and according to the vlogger, this service is currently available in areas where fuel pumps are not located nearby. As of now, only diesel is available through this service. In the same video, the vlogger can be heard saying that the same service is available in cities too but, the he or she should buy a lot of fuel to avail this service.
This is actually a good service specially for people living in rural areas. People majorly dependent on farming can refuel their tractors and other farming equipment at their doorstep without worrying about the quality of fuel. The video is not explaining the whole process elaborately however, this is something which is expected to be seen in many more places in the coming times.
Coming to the Kia Seltos, the compact SUV is one of India’s best selling vehicles in its segment. Only the 2020 Hyundai Creta sells more than the Seltos in the mid size SUV category. The Seltos is offered with multiple engine and transmission options. Petrol engines include 1.5 liter-4 cylinder naturally aspirated and 1.4 liter-4 cylinder turbocharged engines while the diesel engine is a 1.5 liter-4 cylinder turbocharged unit. Gearbox options on offer include a CVT automatic unit, a 6 speed manual, DCT twin clutch automatic and a 6 speed torque converter unit. The Seltos was in the news recently for securing a 3 Star Global NCAP rating but with an unstable body structure that could not withstand further loading.
