Kia Seltos officially unveiled in India; Launch later this year

Kia will launch the all-new Seltos in the Indian market in the coming months. Before that, the car has been revealed in India. Kia has revealed numerous details about the all-new Seltos including its engine and features. The Kia Seltos will become the first-ever launch from the brand in the Indian market.

The Seltos gets a very modern design with sleek headlamps that gets all-LED set-up with uniquely designed turn indicators that are positioned just below the headlamp. Kia says that the headlamps get a heartbeat design that makes it look very attractive. Kia will offer as many as eight colours with the Seltos and the vehicle will also get a dual-tone roof that can be customised according to the choice of customers.

The Kia Seltos offers a range of unique features that are offered for the first time in the segment. It gets an 8-speaker system from Bose with connected mood lighting. The ambient light of the Kia Seltos will change according to the music, making the occupants feel like a club. It also gets a large 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For the first time, an affordable car in India will offer the Heads-Up Display. The detailed HUD will display all the required information on the windshield of the car. The Kia Seltos also offers a 360 camera.

The Kia Seltos will be offered with three engine options. There will be a naturally-aspirated petrol engine available with the car and a turbocharged diesel engine available too. Kia will also introduce the sportier GT-Line version of the Seltos that will get the high-performance 1.4-litre T-GDI engine. It is a turbo-petrol engine that is available in many peformance-oriented Hyundai and Kia cars around the world. There will be four transmission option available with the all-new Kia Seltos. There will be a CVT automatic, torque converter and dual-clutch automatic. There will be a 6-speed manual transmission too. The T-GDI high-performance engine will be available with the 7-speed DCT, however, the exact engine-transmission tie-up is not known. All the engine options are compliant to BS6 emission norms. There will be Normal, Eco and Sports modes that will change the engine dynamics too.

Talking about the connected cars, the Kia Seltos will offer the UVO system, which will keep the vehicle connected to the Internet all the time. It will allow the customers to track the vehicle in real time and will also allow them to immobilize the vehicle remotely. Other features include remote lock/unlock, remote start/stop the engine, remotely operate the air purifier and check the quality of the air inside the car. Safety wise, the Seltos will get 6-speed airbags, ABS+EBD, VSC, ESC, TC, Hill Climb Assist, Brake Assist and more such features.

Kia will establish as many as 265 touchpoints across 160 cities in India. Also, facilities like mobile service centres will be available too. Kia will launch the all-new Seltos
