Kia Seltos will officially launch in the Indian market later this year. The car was officially unveiled by the Korean car makers in the Indian market. Kia has officially revealed the powertrains of the upcoming car and it will be launched with both petrol and diesel engine options in the Indian market. Kia has confirmed that the GT Line variant of the car will get the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. However, the other two engines are not confirmed by the brand officially. Highly likely, the other engine options will be the naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine.

Even though Kia is yet to reveal the power of the engine options officially for the Indian market, the same engines are available in many other Kia models in the international markets. Looking at the power out of these engine options, the Kia Seltos is expected to be the most powerful car in the segment. Kia Seltos will take on directly against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur and the Tata Harrier. The higher-end variants of the Seltos will also take on the likes of Jeep Compass in the Indian market.

The Kia Seltos will be offered with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a high-performance 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Internationally, the same engine options are available with various different cars. All three engines will be BS6 compliant when launched in the Indian market. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will produce around a maximum of 115 Bhp of power. The diesel engine in the Kia Seltos will produce more torque than the Hyundai Creta’s 1.6-litre diesel engine unit that churns out a maximum of 260 Nm. The most powerful engine option of the all will be the 1.4-litre turbocharged unit that will generate more than 140 Bhp.
