7 new things about the Kia Seltos you DON’T know about

The first car from Kia Motors in India is an all-new model that will go on sale in the global markets. Kia has developed the vehicle with the Indian market in mind and since the Indians love the long list of features, the Seltos will offer a number of first-in-segment features. We earlier told you about many of these first-in-segment features and things that you should know about the Seltos. However, there’s more. The official brochure of the Kia Seltos reveals a lot about the upcoming car and here are eight new things that you should know about the Kia Seltos that will be launched in the Indian market on 22nd August 2019.

Internet-connected air purifier

The Kia Seltos will offer UVO connected air purifier. The UVO is the Internet-connected service platform of Kia and it will allow the owner to track the car from their smartphone, set-up GPS fencing and control a few features in the car through the smartphone. Apart from the smart features, the Seltos will offer UVO-connected Air Purifier, which will allow the owner to control it from a smartphone. The air purifier can work to remove all the pollutants from the cabin. It can remove 95% of pollutants from the cabin air in just 25 minutes.

While there are many aftermarket grilles that add bling to a car with features like integrated lights on the front grille, Kia will offer factory-installed lightbar integrated to the grille of the Seltos. The lightbar on the grille of the Seltos is an extended part from the headlamps of the Seltos and adds a subtle bling to the car.

Drive view

The Kia Seltos comes with an advanced 360-degree camera. The 360-degree view is visible when the car is moving at slower speeds or getting into a parking slot. However, the driver can get a live view from the rear camera on the infotainment screen even while driving. The Seltos offers blind-spot detection for the first time in India and the rear camera will be quite useful in this case.

Quickest petrol-powered vehicle in the segment

The Kia Seltos gets powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. Kia will also offer a GT Line version, which comes powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This is the most powerful version of the Kia Seltos and the engine produces a maximum power of 140 Bhp and 242 Nm of peak power. It is the quickest petrol-powered SUV in the segment and can do 0-100 km/h in just 9.7 seconds!

Best-in-segment terrain modes

Kia Seltos will not be a 4WD vehicle but just like the Harrier, it gets terrain modes. However, Kia offers three terrain modes – Sand, Mud and Wet. These modes are quite extreme and Kia claims it to be the best-in-segment. It should be noted that Tata Harrier offers Normal, Wet and Rough modes, which are less number of terrains than the Kia Seltos.

Touchscreen in every variant

The Kia Seltos comes fully-loaded with features and even the entry-level variants will be equipped with features. All the variants of the Kia Seltos will offer a touchscreen infotainment system. The lower variants will offer a 3.8-inch touchscreen while the mid variants of the car offer 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The top-end variants will come with 10.25-inch touch-sensitive displays.

The Kia Seltos comes with first-in-India dancing LED ambient light that is connected to the infotainment system of the car. The lights come with different themes. There are 8 mono settings and 4 theme settings that change the mood inside the cabin of the Seltos completely.
