The South Korean automobile giant – Kia Motors will soon launch their first-ever product in the Indian market in the coming days. First showcased as the SP Concept at the 2018 Auto Expo, India, the all-new SUV from Kia is ready for production. It will be a global car and will be available in many international markets too. However, before the official unveiling on 20th June in India, new pictures reveal the name and design of the car completely.
Kia Seltos
Kia showcased a heavily camouflaged version of the SP Concept in India, which was given the name SP2i. Now, the production-ready car has been spotted and from the pictures, we can see that the car gets the name Seltos. The pictures on Autoblog show the vehicle from all around too. However, it cannot be confirmed if the Indian version of the Kia Seltos will carry the same name. It should be noted that the Seltos will challenge the likes of Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks in the Indian market.
The Kia Seltos seen in the pictures seems very modern in design. Kia released a few official sketches of the car and the Seltos looks identical to the sketches. At the front, it gets a complex headlamps set-up. There is a sleek headlamp housing with LED DRLs with design lines placed below them. The lower part of the bumper gets the vertical-orientation fog lamps. The Kia Seltos also gets the signature Tiger nose grille at the front.
The Kia Seltos looks quite aggressive from the side too. It gets a dual-tone body colour with a contrasting upper part. The window line of the upcoming Kia Seltos is quite aggressive too and the window lining extends to the C-Pillar. It adds a floating roof effect to the car too. The pictures also clearly show the modern-looking alloy wheels of the Kia Seltos.
From the rear, the Kia Seltos gives a Range Rover Evoque-ish look. The split-LED tail lamps look extremely good on the car and it extends to the side of the body. There is a chrome bar that connects both the tail lamps too. The reverse lamps are integrated smartly to the chrome bar. The car also gets bumper-integrated exhaust openings that add a sporty touch to the car.
The pictures also give a glimpse of the interior. The dashboard of the Seltos will offer a premium touch material. According to the sketches, the Seltos will also get a coloured Driver information display and other higher high-tech features like drive modes. However, none of these features can be confirmed right now.
Kia is likely to use a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine to power the Seltos in the Indian market. It will produce around 140 Bhp. The diesel engine option is likely to be a 1.4-litre or 1.6-litre turbocharged engine from the Hyundai Creta.
