Kia Motors is all set to make its India debut in the coming few weeks. Its first vehicle here will be a Hyundai Creta challenging compact SUV which has been recently named Seltos. It was first showcased as the SP Concept at the 2018 Auto Expo, India. Now, the all-new SUV from Kia is ready for production and will be launched globally. Though some leaked images have shown the car in its full glory already, it is not known if the final design of the SUV will be the same or a bit different from the white Seltos in the leaked images. Giving us a hint of the final design is this teaser image, posted by bigstar_dayday on Instagram recently.
The image reveals the sleek headlamp housing with LED DRLs along with the chrome surrounded tiger nose grille. The design of the Kia Seltos looks quite modern as well as appealing. It is sophisticated without being too busy, something which is a welcome inclusion in the segment when it gets launched. It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster among others in the segment. Talking about the interiors of the SUV, the Seltos will have premium soft-touch materials all over. Going by speculations, the car will come with a coloured driver information display and other higher high-tech features like drive modes.
Kia Seltos is likely to get a range of first-in-segment features too. From the official sketches released by the manufacturer, it can be said that that the SUV will most probably come with a coloured TFT display in the driver instrument console and a humongous 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from this, Kia is also expected to launch several other segment-first features and a few reports say that the vehicle will get ventilated seats with a heating option in the Chinese market. There will be an option of heated steering wheel too according to some reports.

As for the engines, the all-new Kia Seltos will come with both petrol and diesel engine options. There will be a range of T-GDi engines, which consists of a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating around 120 Bhp or a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine that generates around 140 Bhp. The diesel variants of the car are likely to be powered by Nu 2.0-litre engine that generates a maximum power of 150 Bhp.
Both the engine options may get automatic transmission as an option. It should be noted that for the Indian market, the Seltos was expected to get powered by the same engine options as the Hyundai Creta. However, since the launch of the Kia Seltos will happen by the end of this year, which is too close to the BS6 emission norms implementation, it will get the all-new 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine option. However, one thing to keep in mind here is that the Indian spec Seltos could come with different engine options than the International-spec Seltos.
