Among the most anticipated upcoming cars of India, the Kia Seltos will be launched on the 22nd of August this year which makes it around a month and a half away from now. Quite a lot of information about the Seltos has been revealed till date including the engine and gearbox information. To let you know, it will be the first car in India that will come with three different types of automatic transmission options. What, however, we are here to discuss today are the exclusive details about the Kia Seltos as revealed in this video. As seen in the video, the Kia Seltos will be available with a total of 11 variants in total. This includes 5 diesel variants, 3 petrol variants and 3 petrol turbocharged variants in all. The diesel-powered Seltos will have 5 variants that are – TE, TK, TK+, TX and TX+. Lastly, the turbocharged diesel engine variants, as revealed in the video above, are – GTK, GTX and GTX+. Do note that this is not official information but is based on what is said in the video. Therefore, the final configuration and details may vary when the Seltos is launched in India. The diesel variants of the Kia Seltos will get a 6-speed torque converter type automatic transmission along with a six-speed manual box. The diesel engine here will be a 1.5-litre turbo motor that churns out 115 Bhp power and 250 Nm of torque. As said in the video, the base TE variant will come with several features like ABS+EBD, Follow me home headlamps, rear AC vents, audio system with four speakers, tilt and telescopic steering with mounted controls along with two airbags.
The top-end variant will be fully loaded and come with features like 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, Hill Assist Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Traction Control, Brake Assist, 7 inch MID, 8 speakers Bose audio system ventilated seats and wireless charging among others.
Talking about the petrol variants, there are two engines on offer here. There is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol that puts out 115 Bhp of power along with 144 Nm of torque. Then there is the most powerful engine option which is a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine with an output of 140 Bhp power and 244 Nm of torque. While the naturally aspirated petrol will get a CVT automatic option, the turbo petrol motor will get a 7-speed twin-clutch automatic gearbox. A six-speed manual gearbox is a standard across the range.
Talking of features, the top-end variants of the diesel and petrol variants will have a similar set of features including a 10.25-inch infotainment display, 360-degree camera, 17-inch alloys and 8-way adjustable powered seats. Now Whether all these claims made by this video are authentic or not can only be determined once Kia launches the Seltos in India.
