After a long wait, Kia finally launched the all-new Seltos in the Indian market. The mid-size SUV, which will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta directly has been priced very aggressively. The Hyundai Creta is an extremely tried and tested product that has been around for years in the market. Also, the 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engine options of the Hyundai Creta offer a higher power output when compared to the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options of the Kia Seltos. Hyundai also has a tested service network which is much wider than Kia’s network.
However, the Kia Seltos is more affordable, offer much more features and looks much more modern than the ageing Hyundai Creta in the market. The Kia Seltos currently seems like more value-for-money and offers more features for a lesser price tag. It should also be noted that the Hyundai Creta is currently at its end of the lifecycle and will get an all-new model, which will be based on the platform of the Seltos. The all-new Creta will arrive in 2020 in the Indian market. For now, the Seltos seems to be a smarter choice but the Hyundai Creta remains the wiser choice between the two.
