Kia Motors India a few days ago officially unveiled their third product Sonet for Indian market. The Kia Sonet sub-4 meter compact SUV once launched will compete with cars like Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport in the segment. Soon after the unveil, a top-end trim Kia Sonet was spotted on our roads without any camouflage and now we have more pictures coming in, of the soon to be launched Kia Sonet compact SUV. This time around we have images of a mid-spec variant of the Kia Sonet.
The pictures have been shared on Autocar India forum and the car almost has no camouflage. The image shows front and rear of the SUV. The main difference is the headlights, instead of an all-LED set up it might get a regular or may be single projector type lamps. It also misses out on features like a fog lamp. The front grille gets a different treatment and the silver garnish around the grill is retained. It isn’t known whether this variant will get a DRL or not.
Moving down, the faux skid plate is of a different design than that of the top-end trim. It retains the muscular look at the front even though it not fully equipped. Another interesting this noticed in the picture is the colour. The lower part of the Sonet gets grey and the A pillor along with ORVMs have a white shade. what this could mean is that the dual tone treatment will not only be available with the top-end trim.

Coming to the rear, the lights are not all LED but the connecting reflector bar is still retained. The lower part of the bumper gets another set of reflectors and the silver coloured faux skid plate will also be there. Features like rear windscreen wiper and washer are also missing in this variant. Kia Sonet will be available in three engine options.
A 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine with 7-speed DCT, iMT and manual gearbox option, a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual gearbox and a 1.5 litre diesel engine with a manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. Kia will be launching the all-new Sonet in the market in September 2020. The compact SUV is likely to be priced very attractively given the high amount of localization.
