Kia will officially unveil the all-new Sonet in the Indian market on 7th August 2020. But before that, Kia has released a few teaser images that give us an idea on how the car will look like. The all-new Sonet was revealed as a concept vehicle at the 2020 Auto Expo. Even though the production version of the Sonet will not be much different from the concept, there are a few changes. The all-new Sonet will be the brand’s third car in the Indian market and it will take on the direct rivals like Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and more such cars in the market. Before the official launch, Kia has listed the Sonet on the official website and new set of spy pictures also reveal how the car will look like in the real world.
The all-new Kia Sonet will be the brand’s most affordable car in the Indian market. The spy pictures are heavily camouflaged but they reveal a lot about the upcoming car. To start with, the front of the all-new Sonet will get the signature Tiger nose grille that will become the car’s identity. Also, the sleek all-LED headlamps look very premium on the Sonet. It gets heartbeat inspired DRL that is available on the Seltos too.
The new model looks well-proportionate and even the rear looks quite interesting. The new pictures from ZigWheeels show the tail lamps of the Sonet and the thin reflector connecting them. It sure looks very premium. Overall, the Sonet looks quite interesting on the road and it sure will be one of the best-looking cars in the segment.
Kia is yet to reveal the cabin of the all-new Sonet but it will be a premium cabin with flat-bottom steering wheel and a massive 10.25-inch infotainment screen that will come with features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Kia is also likely to provide a long list of features and many of them will be the first-in-segment features. We may also get to see a 360-degree camera on the Sonet.
The all-new sub-4m compact SUV will come with three engine options, which will be same as the Venue. We will get to see a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that will be available with the lower-end trims while there will be a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine as well. The diesel variants will get powered by a 1.5-litre engine. Kia will offer Intelligent Manual Transmission (IMT) and 7-speed DCT with the all-new Sonet along with regular manual transmission.
