Kia Sonet reimagined with a widebody kit in black: Looks MEAN!

The South Korean automaker Kia launched its subcompact SUV Sonnet back in September 2020 and since then the car has been hit for the automaker. Over the years, the Sonnet has found many homes in the country and many people have modified this small SUV as well. To inspire future and present owners of the Sonet in the country an artist on Instagram has shared a set of rendered images of this subcompact SUV wearing a widebody kit and painted in a menacing black color. The artist has also shared a teaser of this rendering on his social media handle as well.

The digital artist on the popular social media platform Instagram that goes by the name of bozzconcepts has shared some electrifying pictures of a reimagined Sonet. From the pictures and the reel of this modified Sonet, we can note that bozzconcepts has created the render of this subcompact SUV in a shade of Aurora Black Pearl. On the front, the artist has given the fascia a complete makeover with the addition of a new bumper design.

The main grille on the front gets a honeycomb pattern and the lower part of the bumper gets straight lines instead of the honeycomb in the stock car. Another highlight of the front is the absence of the stock fog lamps. In place of those, there are Kia’s signature ice cube LED fog lamps that are seen on the more expensive Seltos. The car also gets a custom bonnet with air intakes as opposed to the plane leveled bonnet on the standard Sonet.

The rendered Sonet’s another major highlight is the addition of a widebody kit. The car with this kit looks extremely wide and like most of the concepts its stance is also on point. The vehicle sits on a set of huge custom alloy wheels which are coupled with low profile tyres. The vehicle also seems to be much lower than the factory Sonet. On the side the Sonet also gets some humble side skirts. Meanwhile on the rear, the artist has not tweaked the stock car that much and has kept it relatively same just with the addition of the widebody extensions and a little blackout of the elements here and there.

Last year the company revealed that the Sonet had crossed the elusive 1.5 lakh unit sales mark in the country. Following the announcement, Kia Motors launched the Sonet X-Line with ex-showroom prices starting from Rs. 13.39 lakh for the 1.0 turbo petrol version and Rs. 13.99 lakh for the 1.5 turbo diesel version. Both variants of the Kia Sonet X-Line are based on the top-end automatic trims. The X-Line trim is a cosmetic upgrade for the Kia Sonet. The X-Line upgrade consists of the following: Matte Graphite paint scheme, Sage dual tone interiors, 16-inch alloy wheels in a new design, grille finished in gloss black and art leather sports seats with orange stitching. The Sonet is one of India’s hottest selling sub-4 meter compact SUVs, and the X-Line trim is meant to keep the vehicle fresh and exciting for festive car buyers.
