Kia Sonet is the latest entrant in the sub-4 meter compact SUV segment and has been doing great in terms of sales. In just 12 daysafter starting delivery, Kia has sold over 9,000 units of Sonet SUVs. It competes with the likes of Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport in the segment. The sub-4 meter compact SUV segment is highly competitive and here we have a video that shows comparison between the all-new Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV300 SUV.

The video has been uploaded by The Car Guide – Rishabh Arora on his youtube channel. The video simply starts comparing both vehicles on the basis of their looks, features, price, comfort and drive. Starting with the exterior, Mahindra XUV300 has a bold looking front with projector headlamps whereas the Sonet comes with all LED headlamp units. The heartbeat shaped dual function DRLs on Sonet look quite unique and the XUV300 gets uniquely designed split LED DRLs.

The vlogger then compares the side profile of both SUVs and he like the XUV300 more from this angle mainly because, it has bigger and good looking alloy wheels in comparison to the Sonet. Same happens with the rear, he personally likes the XUV300 because of its clean design at the rear. XUV300 has disc brakes on all four wheels whereas the Sonet comes with disc brakes for the front only.

Moving inside, Kia Sonet is a clear winner here. It is the latest car to be launched in the segment and has been filled to the brim with features. It gets connected car features, ventilated seats, large infotainment screen, integrated air purifier with virus protect and so on. Both cars have features like traction control, airbags, electric sunroof etc.

In terms of price, both petrol and diesel versions of Kia Sonet is expensive than that of Mahindra XUV300. Coming to the interior space, Mahindra XUV300 offers segment leading leg room whereas the Kia Sonet feels a bit cramped. Kia has compromised on second row space so that they can provide segment’s largest boot space. The XUV300 on the other end has the smallest boot in the segment.

In terms of driving and handling, the vlogger feels that XUV300 is more engaging. In conclusion, Both vehicles have their pros and cons and it is quite difficult to find a winner out of them. He feels, it totally depends upon the needs of the customer. If you are looking for a feature loaded car then Sonet is the one to go for and if you are looking for a car that is fun to drive then XUV300 is a better option out of both.
