Production version of KIA SP will be officially unveiled next month in India

Kia will soon start selling their products in India and their first car for the market is an India-specific car based on the SP Concept. The SP Concept was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in India but following that, newer versions of the Kia SP concept named as Kia SP Signature was showcased at an international market show. The production version of the Kia SP Concept is excepted to heavily draw inspirations of the Kia SP Signature. If you’re wondering what the production version of the car will look like, you don’t need to wait for long as Kia will officially showcase the production version of the car next year in the market.

Production version of KIA SP will be officially unveiled next month in India

As per ACI, the all-new Kia SP will be revealed in the India market next year. The launch of the first vehicle from Kia is set to happen later this year. Taking cues from the Kia SP Signature, the production version of the vehicle will get sharp looks. It will be directly positioned against the Hyundai Creta in the Indian market and will also take on the likes of Renault Capture, Nissan Kicks and even the Tata Harrier.

The SP Signature gets the signature tiger grille nose that looks futuristic. It also gets sleek Daytime Running Lamps Integrated into the grille that adds a very modern look. From the side, the Kia SP Signature gets 19-inch alloy wheels but that will be toned down to 17-inch size in the production form. The design of the Kia SP is quite aggressive and it is expected to get a lot of attention on the roads. The Kia SP Signature gets all the modern design cues including a floating roof effect and a tapered window line. The Kia SP Signature will inspire a lot of upcoming vehicles in the global markets.

The production version of the Kia SP will be underpinned by an all-new platform that will also form the base of the upcoming Hyundai Creta in the future. As for the engines, Kia is likely to use both petrol and diesel engine options with the upcoming vehicle. It is likely to get a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that will generate around 140 Bhp of maximum power. There can be a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine available with the car too. All the diesel versions of the upcoming Kia SP concept’s production version will get powered by the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. Kia plans to launch a new car in the Indian market every six months after the launch of the production version of Kia SP Concept and a more powerful version of the car is also expected to be on the cards in future.
