Lamborghini Huracan Performante launched

Lamborghini has launched the Huracan Performante in the Indian market. The company has been very active when it comes to launches in India. While other companies wait a while before launching their products in the Indian market, Lamborghini tends to do so almost immediately after global launch. The Performante made its global debut just a month back at the Geneva Motorshow and is now it is already here.

What is the Performante?

The Performante is the more track focussed ‘Hardcore’ version of the Huracan. The 5.2 liter V10 has been retuned to make 630 Bhp and 600 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG which has been re-engineered for quicker shifts. 0-100 comes up in 2.9 seconds and it has a top speed of 325 kmph.

In terms of weight, the Performante has shed close to 40 kgs over the normal variant. thanks to the excessive use of carbon fibre and aluminium in the body construction. It has also received a minor cosmetic makeover. You now have a new bumper, both up front and at the back. The car also gets active aerodynamics, which is what makes the car so fast. Lamborghini terms it the ALA (Aerodynamica Lamborghini Attiva). This includes a front splitter and a rear wing that comes with electrically controlled flaps that help to increase downforce. The rear wing is finished in carbon fibre. Pirelli has specially developed a new set of 20″ tyres for the Performante, the P Zero Corsa.

Those of you who follow the industry would know that this is the very car that created a huge stir by setting a really fast lap time around the Nurburgring, even faster than a Porsche 918. Currently, it is the fastest production car to lap the circuit, at 6 minutes and 52.01 seconds, which is close to 5 seconds faster than the 918.

Pricing

The Performante is priced at a reasonable Rs 3.97 crore, ex-showroom.

This is the second launch from Lamborghini this year, after having launched the new Aventador S earlier in the year.
